Additive and subtractive manufacturing, with industry-standard controls, in a compact machine.
The Levil EDU-MiLL is a versatile, compact machine that combines CNC milling and 3D printing into one efficient package, making it a powerful tool for teaching both additive and subtractive manufacturing in the classroom. Built with an industry-standard FANUC control, this machine allows students to use the same CNC technology found in professional settings, supporting real-world skill development.
The EDU-MiLL features a durable, enclosed steel design with large doors and side windows for clear access and monitoring. With a rapid feed rate of 400 inches per minute, a high-speed 24,000 RPM spindle, and a 2.2 kW motor, this machine is capable of intricate engraving and high-precision small part manufacturing. The working area provides ample space for various CNC applications, with a worktable measuring 14.5” x 9.8” and travel ranges that accommodate detailed, accurate milling.
When switched to additive mode, the EDU-MiLL’s magnetic locking mechanism enables quick attachment of a single or dual-head FDM 3D print head, compatible with materials ranging from PLA to high-performance plastics like TPU, as well as metal filaments including stainless steel and titanium. The 3D printing feature offers a build volume of 6.3” x 10.2” x 4.3” and a minimum layer resolution of 100 microns, making it ideal for both detailed prototyping and practical part creation. An optional kiln package is available for sintering metal parts, further expanding the machine’s capabilities.
Designed to fit through standard doorways and compatible with an optional stand and casters, the EDU-MiLL is highly adaptable for classroom or lab environments. This dual-function machine provides an affordable and space-efficient way to teach modern manufacturing processes on a single platform.
Robot-tending: Add FANUC’s robot onsite option to connect a CRX collaborative robot to the EDU-Mill. Now, you can do automated machine loading & unloading and teach your students the fundamentals of systems integration!
