Mechatronics CERT Cart

The Mechatronics CERT Cart prepares students for real-world manufacturing by combining FANUC robots, Rockwell PLCs, pneumatics, safety systems, and modular project-based learning into a single portable training system.

The Mechatronics CERT Cart, developed by APT Manufacturing Solutions in partnership with FANUC and Rockwell Automation, is a hands-on training platform that integrates PLCs, robotics, pneumatics, and industrial sensors into a single mobile system.

Students will practice operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated systems while learning to integrate PLCs with robots, safety practices, and 2D vision guidance. With its modular design, instructors can introduce new Project-Based Learning (PBL) options, such as an EV assembly setup for students to understand the process experienced by today’s EV manufacturers, or a dry-erase marker packaging project.

Whether you choose a FANUC 6-axis ER-4iA  Mate industrial robot or a CRX collaborative robot for your cart, the Mechatronics CERT Cart is a complete automation training solution that prepares students for advanced manufacturing careers.

Basic Operator

Students with this level will attain a basic understanding of robot and CNC operations and programming, material handling and its components, and preventative maintenance with troubleshooting. Students will work with standard robot or cobot carts, CNC simulators and 2- and 3-axis machines.

Intermediate Technician

Students with this technical level have a more thorough understanding of robot and CNC operations and programming, material handling and its components, robotic welding, multi-axis machine tools, as well as integrated technology, such as 2D iRVision, conveyors, digital and Ethernet I/O.

Advanced Systems Integrator

Advanced training options teach integrated technologies and how they communicate as a fully-automated system. In addition to robots and CNC machine tools, students will work with PLCs, HMIs, area scanners, light curtains, wireless communication and I/O, pneumatic devices, smart sensors, RFID tags, conveyors, and data analytics.
