Robot Machine Tender & CNC Simulator: MTEC-Sim

The MTEC-SIM combines a FANUC CNC simulator with a robot machine tender, teaching students robot-to-CNC integration, programming, 2D vision guidance, and machining fundamentals all in one compact, classroom-ready system.

Robotics and CNC, working side by side.

The MTEC-SIM, developed by APT Manufacturing Solutions in partnership with FANUC, brings together CNC simulation and robotic machine tending into one compact, mobile training system. Designed for classroom and lab environments, the MTEC-SIM allows students to explore both CNC machining and robotics while learning how these technologies integrate in modern manufacturing.

Students can program both the robot and CNC independently, then connect them to perform collaborative tasks such as part loading, unloading, and inspection. With the optional iRVision 2D guidance system, learners gain advanced skills in robotic part recognition, guided motion, and inspection workflows.

Features:

  • FANUC CNC simulator with robot machine tender and cart
  • Choice of FANUC LR Mate ER-4iA 6-axis robot or FANUC CRX-5iA collaborative robot
  • Preconfigured program templates for robot/CNC integration
  • Optional iRVision 2D system for guided robot motion and inspection
  • Includes toolbox, cart, and part loading templates for mill & lathe simulation
  • Portable design for flexible classroom setups
